With the high quality FR Ice Freestyle Frames you turn your favourite inline skates into real ice skates.
There are solutions like the
Powerslide Iceblade Sabres 4 where you replace the wheels with an ice skate blade. This is a good and cheap solution, but not ideal, because the frame is meant for wheels and therefore your centre of gravity is higher than necessary for ice skating.
With the FR Ice Freestyle Frames you replace the complete frame with a frame that is specially made for ice skating. This ensures a lower centre of gravity and a more stable skating movement.
The blades are pre-sharpened.
There are three Allen keys included. The blades are mounted to the frame with four screws. One of the Allen keys is suitable for these screws. With the other two Allen keys the frame can be mounted on the inline skate boot.
Recommendation:
- 316mm (=243/4x80mm rockered)
- 292mm (=231/4x76mm rockered)
- 275mm (=219/4x72mm rockered)
- 254mm (=208/4x68mm rockered)
-
Strengths:
- You have a low centre of gravity because not just the wheels are replaced by a blade, but the whole frame is replaced.
- High-quality blade.
- Your inlineskate will be a real ice skate, not a "surrogate ice skate".
Weaknesses:
The picture shows the frame with a 316 mm blade. However, four different blade lengths are possible. Measure the length of your inlineskate and decide whether you want a blade that is short or long in relation to your boot.
The blade lengths indicated measure the ice skating blade from front to back in a straight line (i.e. not along the curve of the blade). See also one of the photos showing that the distance from front to back of the 316mm blade in a straight line is 316 mm.
The frames are packed per pair.
